This LCD screen, MT-12864J manufactured by Melt, is designed to display graphical information. It is similar to the displays of old mobile phones like the Nokia 3310 or Siemens C35.
The display runs on a chip compatible to Samsung's KS0108 which is the most common controller for this kind of screen.
20 pins are used to power the screen and connect to the control board. We have already prepared displays for use and soldered pin headers to the contacts which allows you to immediately use it on a breadboard or connect it to a shield board with F/M jumpers.
To connect the screen, you will need a potentiometer or a 4.7 kΩ resistor to set the contrast.
However, this is not the only way to interact with a control board. Perhaps the GLCD v.3 library is more suitable for your devices. Officially it is no longer supported, but there are a lot of projects and schemes for it.
