Our electronics kit "BeetleBot" will open up the world of robotics to any young engineer. With 14 fascinating experiments including light, sound, and movement, your child will become acquainted with the basics of circuitry.

Their beetle will learn to squeak, flash LEDs, and even respond to a TV remote control! No computer is needed to build the robot and no programming is involved. All logic is defined by the component connection scheme.

What’s Inside

The BeetleBot platform will become the basis of all of the experiments. Some of the parts are already soldered on such as small LEDs, electronic timers, decimal counter, and a speaker.

In the center of the beetle is a breadboard. It is used to connect the experiments together, which include motors, buttons, capacitors, and a potentiometer. All additional parts can be added into the holes on the breadboard - no soldering at all!

We have created detailed diagrams, assembly instructions, and concise descriptions of the principles behind these electronic components in a colorful booklet. We believe it has the perfect balance of education and fun. Minimum theory, maximum action!

You may be worried about things exploding or having wired something wrong, but it doesn't matter. You can pull out any component and insert it in a different way. If you lose a component, look for a replacement in the box.

Experiments

Your young engineer will have 14 fascinating experiments with real life applications. The result will be their own remote-controlled robot. Some experiments include:

  • Making the beetle move
  • Working with LEDs
  • Adjust LED brightness
  • Capacitance and how it works
  • Changing the direction your beetle moves
  • Adjusting speed
  • Sensors!
  • Creating Noise
  • Turning on the LED remotely
  • Controlling the beetle from a distance
