The mini-relay is designed to control household electrical appliances using microcontrollers. These relays can handle both AC and DC power (up to 15 Amps).

Mechanically, the relay is just a mechanical switch that can be controlled by a microcontroller. Control current is fed to the electromagnet inside the relay, the resulting magnetic field changes the position of the contact elements in the circuit, and the circuit will open or close.

The control signal is any voltage from 3 to 5 volts. Therefore, the module is compatible with popular boards such as the Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

Elecronics

There is no direct connection between the board and the switched load. Therefore, interference in the high-voltage network will not affect the microcontroller.

The relay is provided with a normally open (NO) contact and a normally closed (NC) contact. The latter contact is very useful when creating security systems.

It's easy to work with and extremely easy to use - no soldering, no small components, no confusion. Nothing needs to be set up - everything is ready for you to use out of the box!

Connectivity

Connect via the 3-pin jumper cable to send a signal to the module.

There are several different ways to wire this module:

Troyka Shield. The most straightforward method. Connect the module to a pin group on Troyka Shield with the 3-pin jumper cable and you’re ready to interface with it from your Arduino.

Troyka Slot Shield. The best choice for quick prototyping. Using slots on the shield, you can get rid of cables. The module will be held securely in place using both pin headers.

The module can be neatly placed on the front panel of your device, fastened М3 screws.

WARNING! If you are not sure how to connect an electrical appliance working on 120 - 220V network to the relay, or if you have doubts and questions about how it is done, STOP. This voltage level can easily start a fire or end your life. Please make sure that you have a full understanding of the principles behind the relay and the dangers that are associated with high voltage. There are some mistakes you can only make once.
